Daniel Arias is a Venezuelan cellist who has built a distinguished international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. Initially trained through Venezuela’s El Sistema, he began studying the cello at the age of ten and made his solo debut at fifteen with the Simón Bolívar Orchestra. He later joined the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel and served as principal cellist of the Teresa Carreño Orchestra, touring extensively throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

His musical education continued in France and Germany under renowned teachers including Philippe Müller, Romain Garioud, Marc Coppey, Michael Strauss, Troels Svane, and Sebastian Klinger. Throughout his career, he has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and David Geringas, and has appeared as a soloist with leading international orchestras, performing major works including Dvořák’s Cello Concerto and Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante.

Among his recent achievements are appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, collaborations with NDR Kultur Radio Hamburg, and receiving the Bruycker Prize. Committed to a contemporary artistic vision, Arias combines the classical repertoire with interdisciplinary and innovative projects designed to bring classical music closer to new audiences. He is currently developing recording projects and international collaborations that explore both European and Latin American repertoire.
